On Saturday, May 31, 2025, Radaisa Berroa-Jorge, Program Director of Prevention and Supportive Housing at Park Avenue Thorpe (PAT), was honored during a special Mother’s Day event hosted by Assemblywoman Yudelka Tapia.
The annual event celebrates the strength and dedication of Dominican mothers in the community and highlights women making a meaningful impact. This year, Radaisa was recognized with a Citation of Appreciation for her outstanding advocacy and unwavering commitment to serving underserved populations in New York City.
This is a moment “that will be in my memory forever,” Radaisa shared. Hearing from family and friends—some as far as the Dominican Republic—that she is an example to follow reminded her that “all the effort and sacrifices were worth it to get to that moment.”
Reflecting on the honor, Radaisa added: “As a woman and a professional, it was amazing to be recognized for doing the work I love.” She has been fortunate to be surrounded by people who supported and inspired her to grow and always tries to do the same for others. “To be acknowledged by the City of New York was beyond what I ever expected.”
Her leadership and passion continue to drive our mission to provide support, hope, and long-term solutions for New York City’s most vulnerable residents.
Congratulations Radaisa, we are so proud of you!
