Dear Nazareth Housing Community,
This season brings new beginnings. For dozens of families in Mott Haven, the Bronx, that means more than a fresh start. It means a new home at St. Anselm’s Apartments, where Nazareth Housing is now providing on-site supportive services within this newly opened affordable housing complex.
With 63 units for former homeless households, including 12 units specifically for survivors of domestic or gender-based violence, St. Anselm’s represents far more than a new address. It is an important moment for them to rebuild stability and continue building a pathway out of poverty.
Opening the Door to a New Chapter
Lease signings at St. Anselm’s Apartments began in October, and we have already welcomed 10 families into their new homes—a powerful reminder of what a fresh start can look like.
“I’m so grateful to be here. I finally feel comfortable and excited about what’s ahead for my family. I’ve already been thinking about ways I can give back, maybe by donating books to the community library. Being here gives me hope,” shared Maria* a St. Anselm’s resident.

Expanding Our Impact to Meet the Needs
To meet the needs of this growing community, Nazareth Housing is expanding its team with 6 new full-time staff members who will work on-site, offering support including:
- On-site case management and individualized support
- Tailored services for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence
- Youth programming to promote stability and growth
- Financial empowerment, health, and wellbeing workshops
- Community-building and holiday events
- Welcome packages and ongoing support as families settle into their new homes
These resources ensure that every household at St. Anselm’s has the support they need to build stable, thriving futures.
We are especially thrilled to welcome Lillian Rodriguez, our new Program Director at St. Anselm’s.
Lillian shared how meaningful this work is to her, saying, “Nazareth Housing gives hope and vision to families, showing them that with support, they can improve their living conditions and create a positive future for themselves and their communities.” Read more about her here.
Your Generosity Makes New Beginnings Possible
Because of you, families facing rising costs and sudden crises never have to face them alone. Your generosity strengthens every part of Nazareth Housing’s work—from emergency food support to long-term housing and financial stability.
A gift today today opens the door to new beginnings for families who need it most.
With gratitude,
Rachel Levine
